Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Nebojša Stefanović PhD visited the company “Teleoptik-Gyroscopes” in Zemun today and reminded that it is a member of the defense industry with the longest tradition, producing the most sophisticated components for our missiles, optics and thermal imaging. As he pointed out during the tour, this is a significant factory for improving the power of our artillery and aviation, as well as infantry, which is why it is important to him that he was convinced that they are also working diligently on development programs for the future, so that the Serbian Armed Forces do not lag behind the modern armies of the world.

Minister Stefanović pointed out that this factory is working on the modernization of our “Orao” aircraft.

– We also had the opportunity to see a demonstration of the integration of systems produced by Teleoptik into missiles for the modernization of our aircraft, but also optical devices of various types used in our ground forces. Of course, in addition to the funds used for our artillery, it will also be a development program for the future and I see serious commitment and serious work from the people in this company. When the assets that are currently being integrated into our “BOV-KIV” vehicles and other armored vehicles, which are also integrated into the personal weapons of our infantrymen, pass through our army Technical Testing Center, when they are fully integrated and used in our weapons, mass production will be one of the development opportunities for our company. In today’s world, I think that the Serbian defense industry, especially companies like this that are engaged in truly serious production and equipment that not just anyone can make, with competitive prices, have something to offer on the world market, in addition, of course, to the weapons they produce for our army. I expect that the development, above all, of a new generation of television and thermal imaging homing heads for missiles will be something that will very quickly improve the power of both our artillery and our aviation – said the minister.

The Minister of Defense thanked the director of the company “Teleoptik-Gyroscopes” Zoran Jarić and his team, who, together with our people from the Military Technical Institute and the “Moma Stanojlović” Institute, are working intensively to ensure that these technologies presented today are not something we will have in 10 years, but perhaps already this year and next.

During his visit, Minister Stefanović toured the electro-optical systems assembly workshop, as well as the new machine shop for parts manufacturing, the nanotechnology laboratory, the electronic circuit board printing line and the CNC grinding department, and attended a demonstration of the operation of the modernized “Orao” aircraft simulator.

The tour was attended by Assistant Minister for Material Resources Nenad Miloradović PhD and Head of the Cabinet of the Minister of Defense Colonel Stevan Kotarlić.
